The Green Way to Travel in Viet Nam

As the modern life causes us so much busyness and stress, people often tend to get more concerned about some new and relaxing travel trends such as: eco tourism, green tourism, adventure tourism, etc. It's not an exception for foreign visitors traveling in Vietnam: they all mostly want to discover places that remain natural, with no noise and emission, just to enjoy the peaceful and quiet scenery, and free their mind of life for a while.

Perfect place for camping
Under that circumstance, a short trip to Suoi Da Lach will be an awesome idea and a perfect choice with those who long for a day off.

Located in the beautiful mountainous area, about 50 kilometres far away from the center of Nha Trang, Suoi Da Lach is not a well-known site to tourists. Like a 'hidden charming', this eco-tourism site was designed and constructed by the most powerful man of the area - the head of Raglai ethnic village. It took almost 10 years to finish the construction, and the whole work were done only by the man and his 10 sons. That was an amazing fact indeed, as unless you come here, you cannot imagine the power of man-made.

The first impression on arriving this site is a 'green feeling'. Everything is specially close to the nature: green, peaceful and calm. There is no cement, no iron or steel here, only natural materials such as woods or leaves. The boulders and trees, later on, leads you to a lot of surprises.

A green way welcome
It is quite a huge distance from the riverside and the mountain to Suoi Da Lach, but all types of rock were brought back and put here in a truly artistic way. Taking advantage of the water power of a natural stream throughout the area and the shape of the stone, using the simple cord to connect, the man has created an amazing chain of unique instrument with melodious sounds by only rocks and wires. You will find this really amazing how they can arrange the whole site in such simple but sophisticated manner.

Taking some steps further inside, you will see some small open stilt houses with bamboo and wooden floor and pilars, and the big roof made of dried leaves which are stopover for tourists: they can sit and relax, have their meals or even get a good nap if tired. The fee is just $5/ house, and each house can accomodate up to 4 or 5 adults. You can also join other extra activities such as night camping: sitting around the fire and enjoying some traditional Vietnamese food as well as other mountainous speciaties; listening to the amazing sound of instruments, dancing and singing before going to bed. This is truly an ideal location for a fantastic getaway.

If it's impressive enough, you will also have the chance to talk with the owner of this place - the only person in the tribe can speak common Vietnamese language. He can tell you the story of the making of this eco site, how he has spent his 10 years to make his dream come true, how he stood out of other people when he perceived the importance of having a place to preserve both the nature and the unique cultural heritage of Raglai ethnic hilltribe. Nothing will be more attractive than witnessing the construction with your real eyes and understanding clearly about the goodwill lying underneath.

A short journey to this site is not hard to do, just follow the road trip and the tour guide will show you a lot of interesting thing. Enjoy yourselves!
